The aesthetically landscaped campus with sprawling beautiful lawns, colorful annuals and captivating perennials create an unique ambience of serenity for the pursuit of education and personal growth. It has an academic block comprising classrooms, faculty rooms, conference halls, library and computer centre. The air-conditioned classrooms and conference halls are equipped with the latest AV equipment to create a comfortable learning atmosphere. The centrally air-cooled hostels have arrangements for hygienic, cosmopolitan food. A video channel available every evening on the TV to provide enrichment of classroom inputs on a wide variety of relevant themes, besides being a source of recreational passtime.

The MANAGE cyberary offers information support services to meet the information needs of educational and training programmes of the institute. It has a fast growing collection of valuable titles for meeting the substantial and varied requirements of the students and trainees. For most of the courses in the PG Programme, at least one important book is procured in multiple copies. The cyberary subscribes to 170 Indian and foreign journals, with new ones being added continuously. Besides the above, approximately 100 newsletters, newspapers and conference proceedings are also received regularly. Access to the cyberary resources is available on the internet through the LIBSYS software. The paperless collection includes 300 videocassettes and 200 CD-ROM’s (on management and related areas). Important databases include TROPAG & RURAL, AGRIS, AGRICOLA, and CABSAC databases including CMIE databases, Prowess, India Trades, Exim and IBID are also subscribed for obtaining the latest on the Indian economy, the corporate world and export import scenario. The cyberary has full connectivity with Internet having multi-user capability. Information dissemination services offered by the institute include access to the cyberary database, literature search, bibliographies and reprographic services.

 

MANAGE recognises the catalytic role of information technology in improving the efficacy and efficiency of managers marching into the 21st century. This is the reason behind establishing a ‘state of the art’ information technology centre. A Local Area Network (LAN) connecting about 180 nodes with latest  Pentium processors to cater to the need of faculty, students, staff and participants.

An exclusive computer lab for PG students established with high end H/W and different Softwares exclusively for their need as per demand of the curriculum. A 64 kbps leased line exist in MANAGE for internet and data transfer to and fro with outside world. The IT centre works 24 hours for entire year for users providing different facilities.

Lotus R5 domino based messaging system for intranet as well as roaming facility on internet provided for each faculty, staff and students to update themselves about the organization and other issues wherever they exist.

IT Centre maintains the state of the art teleconferencing as well as V-Sat based and ISDN based video conferencing facilities to cater to the needs of all at MANAGE. With all these facilities, MANAGE became a role model for practicing and implementing  Cyber Extension in India. Hence, the institute is targeting to become a paperless organization in near future.

Publications

MANAGE also publishes several periodicals and occasional literature. The bi-monthly MANAGE Bulletin presents a picture of the extension scene and current developments in Agriculture. ‘The Spice’ is a bimonthly newsletter of PGPABM. The institute has a  co-publishing arrangement with Overseas Development Institute, UK for bringing out the Indian edition of Natural Resources Perspective Series. The monthly ‘WTO and Agriculture’ focuses on the impact of WTO on Indian agriculture.

Various publications have been brought out which include the Strategic Research and Extension Plans for IT districts under the World Bank funded NATP Project, Private Extension in Indian- Agricultural Marketing, Floriculture, Fertilizers and Product Guide, Farmers Participation in Agricultural Research and Extension Systems, Distance Learning material for farmers in several frontier areas of agricultural technology, publications on the Participatory Adaptive Research Project and Participatory Watershed Projects.

Recreation and Health centre

To relax after the rigorous course inputs, adequate recreation facilities are available in the campus. Outdoor games like Tennis and Badminton, having courts of synthetic turf, Swimming pool and Indoor games like Squash, Table Tennis, Snooker, Carrom, Chess and the Gymnasium are the avenues which the students utilise for their mental and physical build up. The health care centre is equipped with out-door patient treatment facilities for the resident staff, visiting participants and students.
