The Extension Education Institute (EEI), Jorhat established in January 1988 is one of the four Regional Training Centers funded by Directorate of Extension, Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi. The basic objective of the institute  is  to   develop  competency  of  the middle level extension functionaries and trainers of state level training centers in different areas       of  extension education. The institute is managed by Assam  Agricultural  University, Jorhat with technical guidance from Directorate of Extension , New Delhi. The operational area of the institute covers all the 7 states of N.E Region, including 2 other  states -  Sikkim and West Bengal.
