The purpose of  the health care system is to improve the status of      health of urban and Rural population. The goals to be achieved are:

• Reduction in mortality (death) rate.

• Increase in the life expectancy.

• Decrease in population growth,

• Improvement in nutritional status.

• Provision of basic sanitation and literacy.

Any health care system should have the following features:-

• Should be able to cure and prevent the spread of the disease.

• The system and its activities should be acceptable  to the people                            in the community.

• Should allow the participation of the members of the community                            in its activities.

• All the members of the community should be able to afford the                               cost of the  treatment  in other  words,  the treatment should be                              a low - cost treatment.
