About Self-help Groups:
Self-help Groups is a group of 15 to 20 members of women belonging to poverty line ,they form a group to help each other financially and socially. Each group contains 2 leaders. So in a village there might be are more than 1 group and all the members containing women who are backward financially, Socially and some are illiterate and some are innocent.
The main aim and theme of Self-help Group is empowerment of women and to bring light in their life by working together by helping each other. To literate children and all the members of the groups.
Working of Self-help Groups:
Every member in the group save 1 rupee daily and the whole amount of the total groups in the village is given to some group or groups, on priority basis and the amount is revolved among the groups for their development, at a lower rate of interest . Mostly the amount is lended for income generating purposes or self employment.
Self-help Groups in Parvathapur :
Self-help Groups are very famous in this village and the groups are ranked as No.1 in the whole Mandal, the performance of this groups is very good. The self-help groups in this village has taken loans up to Rs.1,50,000 from the bank and had repaid the amount in the given time. There are 22 groups in the village containing 321 group members. A new building had been constructed for the groups in the village and all the meetings of their groups are conducted in that building.
In Parvathapur village there are 22 Self-help Groups.

Revolving Fund : Revolving fund is the amount given by the collecterate office for the self-help groups to meet the needs of the groups and help and encourage the groups towards saving. This funds are given only to the groups which are performing very well, and groups which are graded as 'A' category.

Self-help Group Loans : These are the loans taken by the self-help groups from the banks, for the self employment or for the basic needs of the group members.
Integrated Rural Development Programme ( I.R.D.P ) : Under this programme the loans are given to the self-help groups that are performing very well and for only self-employment purposes.
