8. Success Story : IPM on Paddy in Kottapalem (V) of Tallur Mandal

Sri I..Srinivasa Reddy, Resident of Kottapalem was impressed by the Mandal level training given by ATMA on Paddy IPM during 2001 and followed IPM methods in his 10 acres of Paddy field. Other farmers also satisfied with the results of IPM and followed IPM methods in 350 acres during Rabi 2001.
They observed that there is no difference between IPM and Non-IPM plots. They have not taken up any Chemical pesticidal sprayings but followed IPM methods like seed treatment, Granules application to nursery, leaving alleypathes, tipping of seedlings, Bio pesticidal sprayings helped the beneficial insects maintenance.
This year 70 % of the farmers in the village are following IPM methods on Paddy in about 550 acres.
