Present Work

 

Joined MANAGE in 1995. Working as Project Coordinator for National Agricultural Technology Project (NATP).   Under this project, providing technical and project management advice to the Govt. of India, State Governments and  ICAR institutions.  Responsible for developing the concepts for testing and implementation of the project and coordinating the efforts of a team of persons both at MANAGE, 6 States and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India; and the World Bank.  As Director (Org.Dev. & Process Consultancy), involved in development of policies, programmes for organizational transformation and change  in various extension and agricultural development organisations.  Offers consultancy for international agencies like World Bank, ODA, Swiss Development Corporation besides Govt. of India, State Governments, private sector and NGOs.

 

Work Experience

Has 23 years of experience in the field of agricultural development. The broad areas of work include sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, plantation crop and sericulture etc. In terms of action, major focus has been on providing consultancy, organisational change management, training, research, workshops etc. Held position of course Coordinator for the Post   Graduate Diploma in Agricultural extension Management(PGDAEM) for the year 1997-98.

Involved in developing and suggesting Farmers Organisation oriented extension model for the World bank in one of its projects being implemented in Uttar Pradesh. Provided facilitation and process consultancy and helped in organising the project related workshops for ODAs Western Ghats Forestry Projects, Natural Resource Management project and Education project. Worked as Project Manager in MANAGE in planning, designing, implementation, monitoring and follow up of Agricultural Extension Management Training projects (AEMTPs) funded by ODA.

Prior to joining MANAGE, worked as Deputy Director ( Extension and Transfer of Technology) in NIRD . In this capacity, concentrated on designing, conducting training activities for agricultural and rural development personnel at different levels. Conducted around 50 programmes for both national and international clients. Undertaken research projects in the area of extension in the country such as oilseed development system (soybean), involvement of women in agriculture, performance and evaluation of T&V system

Has the experience of working in the ICAR system as Scientist ( Agri.Extension) for a period of 1 1/2 years. Conducted training in the area of fisheries extension. Started career in a nationalized bank to look after the agricultural finance activities of the bank.

  • Gold medal for highest merit in Ph.D.

  • Silver Certificate under Facilitators Development Programme by Coverdale Org. London in 1991.

  • Gold Certificate under Management Development Programme in Course Designing, Directing,   Mentoring, Project Management and Consultancy in 1994 by Coverdale Organisation, London.

  • Certificate for Advanced Management Consultancy program by Coverdale Organisation London in 1993.

Learnt basic computer skills for presentations and data processing.
