PREAMBLE : State Institute of Agriculture Management (SIAM) has been strengthened as State Level Institute since April,1993 under Agriculture department Project (ADP). Prior to this it was functioning since 1978 as Agriculture Training Centre to conduct trainings an agricultural aspects for farmers, Lower level and middle level field staff of Agriculture and Revenue Department. After up gradation it is providing broad based training to AAO/AO/AD and senior Officers of Agriculture and other line Departments. |

Department of Agriculture, Rajasthan has one more Agriculture training Centre(ATC),Tonk. During 1997 State Government put ATC, Tonk under SIAM Durgapura and it is functioning as syster Institute of SIAM and sharing the Agriculture trainings for farmers, farm women, Agriculture Supervisors and for AAOs also. |
The increase in productivity of foodgrains, oil seed and pulses in Rajasthan through Utilization of advanced technology contributed a great deal in national productivity of above commodities. During 1989, Rajasthan came forward to establish an independent Department of Horticulture that also required to provide latest and advanced technology to the working officers and to be transformed further at field level. Hence, the encouraged State department of Agriculture due to these achievements in productivity of certain commodities realized need for establishment of a State Institute for programmes, workshops, symposiums etc. for the senior level officers of agriculture and other line departments. With advancement of facilities since 1993 SIAM regularly made efforts to develop collaborate activities with other training and Management Institutions within and out side the State to establish a better linkage for transformation of knowledge and techniques to the working field officers and staff so that a skill and learning could be passed among farmers to adopt the new technology with confidence and share the race to meet out the challenges of global changes in Agriculture and growing population to provide more with diminishing natural resources.
