The Mid-Career Professional Development Training on Advancing Agricultural Extension, organized by MANAGE, Hyderabad from 20–24 July 2026, brought together 18 mid-career professionals from the Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture representing 11 institutions across six states of India. The programme provided a dynamic platform for learning, collaboration, and professional exchange, enabling participants to reorient themselves to the rapidly evolving agricultural extension landscape. Emphasizing innovation, entrepreneurship, value-chain development, digital transformation, and stakeholder engagement, the training addressed the emerging competencies required to effectively serve the needs of contemporary agriculture.
Through expert lectures, interactive discussions, case studies, group exercises, and field-based learning experiences, participants strengthened their capacities in digital and AI-enabled extension, agribusiness and entrepreneurship promotion, climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive agriculture, ICT’s and E-Governance, Start-up ecosystem, FPO’s, leadership, gender and social inclusion, and soft skills. The programme enhanced their ability to design and implement farmer-centric, need-based, accountable, resilient, and future-ready extension strategies, thereby contributing to inclusive and sustainable agricultural development.
