The public extension system has a vital and indispensable role in providing extension support to a large population of farmers. The Extension functionaries working in Agriculture and Allied Sectors are the key players in providing extension services to farmers for better farming practices and prosperity of the agriculture sector. Upgrading the knowledge of Extension functionaries and equipping them with the latest technologies is of crucial importance.
The innovations in technologies and tools available today and the concept of eLearning in the form of MOOCs have extended the reach of learning beyond the class room to the entire world. MANAGE is a national level training institute, which focuses on capacity building of officers working in the department of agriculture and allied sectors on various themes related to agricultural extension. Extension MOOCs is an initiative of MANAGE to expand the reach of class room learning through online eLearning courses. MANAGE has launched the PGDAEM, PGDAWSM, Certified Farm Advisor and Certified Livestock Advisor Programs on MOOCs platform.
In order to keep the Extension functionaries enriched with different aspects of Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare, MANAGE has developed a series of Online Short duration Courses as Extension MOOCs, which offer high-quality video based eLearning. Extension MOOCs is an online platform designed to help Extension functionaries to acquire and enhance their knowledge and skills in the agriculture domain. The intent is to reach out to thousands of learners through these MOOCs thus enabling them to access higher agricultural education. The participation certificates will be awarded at the end of the MOOCs course.
