About ITEC The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program, established in 1964, is the flagship capacity-building initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. As one of the oldest institutionalized international training programs, ITEC has trained over 200,000 officials from more than 160 countries worldwide. ITEC offers nearly 10,000 fully-funded, in-person training opportunities each year through nearly 400 specialized courses, which are conducted at over 100 prestigious institutions in India. These courses cover a wide array of fields, including governance, healthcare, education, and economic development, enabling participants to build their capacities and skills. In addition to its regular training calendar, ITEC also responds to specific requests from countries, offering customized training programs tailored to the unique needs of those nations, delivered by India’s top educational and research institutions
Role of MANAGE in ITEC Program As an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, MANAGE is also a training partner of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program. MANAGE is mandated to strengthen agricultural extension management through training, consultancy, policy advocacy, education, and international programs. The ITEC training programs conducted by MANAGE are designed to build the capacity of agricultural extension professionals, policymakers, agripreneurs, and other stakeholders from developing countries. The programs offer specialized training in a variety of agricultural and rural development fields, with an emphasis on leveraging modern technologies for sustainable growth. Training Completed by MANAGE So Far Since 2019, MANAGE has conducted more than 15 training programs for more than 365 participants from various countries under the ITEC initiative. Thesetrainings focused on diverse areas such as sustainable agriculture development, climate-resilient farming, dairy farming advancements, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, promotion of Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs), market integration strategies, computer applications in extension, capacity building for agribusiness incubators, agri-tech startups, and the use of advanced technologies like remote sensing, GIS, drones, and AI in agriculture, contributing significantly to capacity building and innovation in global agricultural development.
