Objectives

:

a) Equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills in scientific pig husbandry practices, covering aspects such as breeding, nutrition, health management, and housing. b) Provide participants with the necessary entrepreneurial skills to establish and manage successful pig farming enterprises, including financial management, business planning, and market analysis. c) Empower participants to maximize their economic returns by implementing scientifically sound pig husbandry techniques, exploring value addition opportunities, and identifying market trends.

 Importance of Pig Husbandry in Indian economy  Agribusiness opportunities in the pig husbandry  Breeding management in commercial breeding farms.  Reproductive management in Pigs  Assisted Reproductive technologies for augmenting production.  Feed formulation strategies and setting up large-scale feed units  Farm safety and biosecurity measures in pig farms.  Management techniques for enhancing production in pigs.  Value addition in pork and creating business opportunities.  Technology commercialization and transfer from research organizations.  Role of FPOs and promoting entrepreneurial ventures in pig farming.  Credit Assistance and Bankable projects for Pig farming.

Methodology

:

 Pre-training Assessment  Online Learning Platform  Multimedia Content Creation  Live Webinars and Virtual Workshops  Online Discussion Forums  Case Studies and Simulations  Online Resource Library  Post-training Support  Course will be offered through online live sessions and the link will be sent to the participants e-mail  Selection of candidates: The participants will be selected as per the eligibility defined for the programme  Last Date for Applying online: 12thMay, 2024, 5:30 pm  Online examination: An online examination will be conducted on 16thMay 2024, 4:00-4:30 pm in which the participants have to respond 25 multiple choice questions through Google forms.  Issuing of certificate  A digital certificate will be issued to the participants after fulfilling following criteria • Full time attendance • Minimum 40% score in online exam  Program Feedback: The participants have to rate each session as a feedback which will be incorporated through online mode
