The Certificate Course on Integrated Nutrient Management (CCINM) is conducted by the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) as per the direction of INM Division to enhance the professional competency of fertilizer dealers and prospective dealers in soil health and nutrient management. Recognizing that fertilizer dealers are often the primary source of technical advice for farmers, the course aims to equip them with scientific knowledge and advisory skills, enabling them to function as Para-Extension Professionals in agriculture.
The programme is conducted as a 15-day residential course comprising classroom instruction, practical sessions, and field visits. It focuses on key aspects of plant nutrition, soil fertility, integrated nutrient management (INM), organic and bio-fertilizers, soil testing, nutrient deficiency diagnosis, fertilizer recommendations, soil health cards, fertilizer regulations, and communication skills for farmer advisory services. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning through exposure visits to soil testing laboratories, composting units, bio-fertilizer laboratories, INM demonstration fields, and organic farms.
The programme is implemented through State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institutes (SAMETIs) and designated Nodal Training Institutes (NTIs) such as Agricultural Colleges, KVKs, FTCs, and ATMAs, under the overall guidance of MANAGE. Candidates with a minimum qualification of 10th standard pass are eligible for enrolment. Each batch consists of 30 participants, and the course is offered on a self-finance basis with a fee of ₹12,500 per participant plus 18% GST.
Evaluation is based on a Mid-Term Examination (30 marks), Final Examination (50 marks), Assignment (10 marks), and Viva-Voce (10 marks), with a minimum of 40 marks required for successful completion. Participants must maintain at least 80% attendance in theory and field sessions. Successful candidates are awarded a certificate from MANAGE, enhancing their credibility and effectiveness in delivering science-based nutrient management advisory services to farmers.
The CCINM programme contributes significantly to improving fertilizer use efficiency, promoting balanced nutrient management, strengthening soil health, and supporting sustainable agricultural development through an informed and professionally trained fertilizer dealer network.
